Your annual membership fee includes unlimited use of the park and supports park operations and regular maintenance.

CADPA supplies poop bags, balls, and chuck-it throwers for everyone’s use - plus fun extras where we can (like swimming pools in hot weather!)

The state of PA legally mandates up-to-date rabies vaccinations as well as licensing for all dogs 3 months and older.

Bordetella (kennel cough) spreads easily between dogs in close contact, which is exactly the kind of environment a dog park creates. It's a standard requirement at boarding kennels, doggy daycares, and dog parks nationwide, and most veterinarians recommend it for any dog that regularly interacts with other dogs - not just at our dog park. Requiring it for membership is one of the simplest ways to protect the whole group, since a single unvaccinated dog can expose everyone using the park that day.

Membership fees are $75/year for your first dog, and $25/year for each additional dog (up to 3 dogs per membership).

Memberships are prorated after July 1 for first time memberships only.

Prorated membership rates are $40 for the first dog and $15 for each additional dog. If you join in November or December, you'll pay the full annual rate, but your membership will carry through the following calendar year — so you're not paying twice for a short window.

Memberships renew for each calendar year in January. We begin sending reminder emails in late December.

Serious incidents are rare, but they occasionally happen.

If you aren’t sure whether an incident warrants a report, please reach out to the board at info@carlisleareadogparks.org and we can help! We review and follow up on all submitted incident reports.

The dog park is open from dawn til dusk, year round.

We intentionally schedule orientations during quieter times to allow your pup to acclimate with less pressure. A few of our recommendations when visiting for the first time:

• Remove their leash prior to entering the pen so they are able to greet and interact with other dogs without feeling restricted.

• We ask owners to pull their dogs away from the gate as any dog is entering - if an altercation occurs, it tends to be at the gate when everyone is excited.

• Let your dog approach other dogs at their own pace rather than forcing interaction.

• Normal dog play often involves growling, wrestling, barking, and mouthing. Some dogs enjoy more aggressive play while others prefer lower key interaction. Dogs are usually pretty good at letting each other know how they want to interact, but also, you are their best advocate!

• Stay close and watch your dog's body language — a tucked tail, stiffening, or excessive hiding are signs to step back and give them space.

• Dogs can be extroverted or introverted, just like people! If your dog seems anxious or overstimulated on the first visit, that's normal — a second or third visit often goes more smoothly as they acclimate.
